SLU Women’s Soccer Win in Philadelphia

SLU Women’s soccer came away with a win over Saint Joseph’s at Sweeney Field in Philadelphia, PA to the tune of 2-0 behind some solid performances. In goal, St Louisan Emily Puricelli made two saves and notched her sixth clean sheet of the season. With this win, Puricelli moved to  4th place  on the all-time victory list. It was the 22nd victory of her career.

Abbie Miller scored 2 goals in the game for the third time in her career for the the Billikens scoring in this Atlantic 10 conference match. It was a team effort as Hannah Sawyer, Brionna Halverson and Emily Gaebe each registered an assist on the way to the eighth shutout overall and third in a row.

The SLU womens soccer team improved their record to 7-7-1 overall and a solid 5-2 in Atlantic 10 conference play. Currently, they are in second place in the conference.

Abbie Miller and Emily Gaebe are tied for team lead in goals and points with four goals and three assists for 11 points. The offense is clicking as the Billikens have out shot their opposition 155-68 overall and an impressive shots of frame by 73-23.

SLU WOMEN’S Soccer NEXT UP

On Sunday, the SLU Women’s soccer team travels to Fairfax, VA to take on George Mason at noon ET. George Mason is ninth in the standings with a 3-3-1 record.
