NASCAR- Coming to St. Louis Area




NASCAR and World Wide Technology Raceway have jointly announced that the 2022 NASCAR circuit will hold a NASCAR Cup Series event on June 5, 2022. Click for NASCAR Press Release HERE. On June 4th, there will be a Camping World Truck series race at Gateway Race track which is about five minutes from downtown St. Louis.

World Wide Technology Raceway is a premier motorsports venue in which NASCAR will use the 1.25 mile oval for their Cup  Series circuit.

World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR) has solidified its standing as a premier motorsports venue as NASCAR officials today awarded the 1.25-mile oval in metropolitan St. Louis a highly coveted date on the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series schedule.

Owner Curtis Francois stated the following:

“We’re looking at it as a great opportunity for our community, to strengthen the metro-east area here, to open the possibility for jobs and commerce, and to make a difference in our community,”

“We are going to be hiring, expanding and building. There are all types of exciting projects on tap for the next eight to nine months.

When St. Louis as added to the 2022 schedule. Pocono Raceway was only given one NASCAR date instead of the usual two races. There is no guarantee a race will come back to St. Louis as it will depend on how the city and surrounding area responds to this race with attendance and how the WWTR organization handles all of the pre-race duties.
